Safety Advisor

Coleman Rail as a specialist rail infrastructure contractor are actively involved in the construction and upkeep of Australia’s expanding Rail network. Due to an unprecedented level of State and Federal funding within the industry we are seeking suitable candidates to expand on our Metropolitan and Victorian market.
Sustained by a twenty-year presence in the Heavy and Light Rail sector we are a notable industry leader in all facets of track construction. At the core of our business the Minor Works team are actively participating in large-scale renewal projects across metropolitan and regional Victoria for a multitude of Rail Operators. Expanding on a reliable and consistent workload we have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and suitabily qualified Safety Advisor.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Safety Professional to join our energetic and highly successful team. To win this role you would need to have a minimum of 3 years project experience in a Safety Role ideally in the civil or rail space. You will also need to have up to date safety qualifications and the ability to understand and interpret WHS legislation, excellent communication and a passion for HSE.  You are confident to identify all authority requirements associated with the project and the management of all necessary approvals. This role is ideal for a fastidious safety person, who is happy to be predominately office based to maintain systems, including but not limited to SWMS and subcontractor compliance.
You can instruct on Project contractual requirements of the Safety Management System as required, be responsible for ensuring that operations are carried out safely and with consideration of environmental protection. You will be expected to promote a positive culture of safety and environmental awareness to team members. Also ensuring that projects comply with legislation in relation to the use of its plant and equipment as well as workplace activities and meets its statutory and industry obligations in respect to Industrial and safety matters at all times.
