Project Engineer Traffic

Ensure the effective coordination and control of Traffic design within engineering works for a designated Project through activities of technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement and quality control based on  ACCIONA standards. The Project Engineer is responsible in assisting the Senior Project Engineer to ensure the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget and to the specified quality.
- Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery

- Monitors and controls subcontractors performance and ensures the quality and standard of workmanship is performed in accordance with the specifications.

- Ensures that the appropriate personnel are in place with delegated responsibilities to
guarantee quality procedures are integrated

- Ensures that project team completes all outstanding defects as a matter of priority

- Ensures implementation of project quality plan

- Ensures non-conformances are recorded and corrective actions initiated as soon as
practically possible.

- Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action

- Adhere to safety plan for project and communicates it to project team members including suppliers and subcontractors

- Responsible and accountable to ensure that all assigned personnel are coordinating their activities with other project participants and that the requirements of the Contract are being satisfied

- Maintain 4 week look ahead of program

- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems

- Monitor and respond to KPI’s

- Manages cost control for certain aspects of the project in order to ensure the project  meets its performance targets in relation to budget/forecast

- Identifies and forecasts risks and opportunities

- Identifies key areas of variances from the estimate

- Encourages commitment from team members to the achievement and/ or bettering of project budget

- Assists and prepares monthly financial reports as required for the project

- Bachelor Degree (Engineering)

- Relevant Tertiary Education

- Preferable 5 years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- Presented problem solving / analytical skills
- Demonstrated relevant leadership skills
- Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules
- Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
- Competent with cost control of projects
- Clear communication – verbal and written
- High attention to detail
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Package
