Job Description

ACCIONA has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to build the East Rockingham Resource Recovery Facility (ERRRF). Under the EPC contract, ACCIONA will deliver the project in partnership with Hitachi Zosen INOVA (HZI), the world-leading technology provider and equipment supplier, bringing the next generation of innovation to the Australian waste management and resource recovery sector. The project encompasses the design, construction, financing and operation of a greenfield Resource Recovery facility in the Rockingham Industry Zone 40km south of Perth.

ACCIONA is now looking for a Cost Controller to add proper financial control across the project, including cost control, forecasting, project reporting and claims management. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager you must maintain a close relationship with the broader team and be responsible for providing activity level reporting and cost control, detailed forecasts, and substantiation for the monthly claims.

Required Skills and Competencies

Your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Manage the integrity of our project finance system
  • Develop, implement and maintain cost procedures for the project
  • Be responsible for the financial accounts
  • Manage month end reporting process
  • Ensure delivery of a timely and accurate month end process

It is essential that you have suitable accounting experience for infrastructure or major construction projects. You have completed a postgraduate qualification in Accounting and CPA or CA with practical experience using and maintaining finance systems. Ideally your experience comes from similar civil, SMP/E&I projects with exposure to EPC process.

You can demonstrate a very clear understanding of what Project Controls is and how it should be managed, you are self-confident and have the ability to persuade, convince or impress.
